She is like Mary.
Not yet of matronly renown but just as sweet in her gentle caretaking of the lowly.
Hers is a story of deep redemptive grace - steeped in the love of the God who knows her name.
It breeds songs of magnificent praise, telling of the overflowing goodness contained within Him.
Do not be afraid, darling daughter, for you have been greeted with the favor of the Lord.
He has called upon you for mighty works still unknown to the world around you.
A vast and glorious mystery is the story of beauty crafted within you.
The Man of highest honor has stepped down to be your King.
Humility Himself has been reproduced in your servant heart.
Shepherdess and woman of wisdom, you have followed His North Star with firstfruits in hand.
Cherished are these events for you - held tight are the memories of His whispers in the night.
Long-awaited dreams have finally been awakened and plans have been birthed as the angels kept watch.
As you sit in anticipation for the moments still unfolding, take courage, sweet one.
He will be right where you left Him, ever about His Father’s business.
You’ve known intimately the great loss and sorrow of this fragile, broken existence.
But resurrection is no longer a distant tale - the stone has rolled aside and Life has claimed His breath.
The sheep are now yours for the keeping, the flock sent out in need of your charge.
Clothed in purity as His Bride, the words you speak ascend as incense to the delight of your Groom.
Beloved is the chosen name for you, from generation to generation.
Blessed are you who has believed He would fulfill that which was promised.
Biblical Context
Myriam is the Hebrew name for Mary, the mother of Jesus. It means "beloved" and was first seen in the story of Miriam, the sister of Moses who watched over him as he grew.
I have a sweet friend that reminds me of Mary. This poem is for her.
"And Mary said: 'My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has been mindful of the humble state of His servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me - holy is His Name.'" ~Luke 1:46-49
