She is like Naomi.

Never a forgotten side character, but the main event of quite a wondrous display.

She has seen the bitter becomings of life sourced outside grace.

The lies of “not enough” creating a resounding hunger within her, seemingly insatiable.

You are honest in the assessment of your pain - genuine in the sharing of many woes.

But rejoice, woman of God, for He has returned you in the time of bountiful harvest.

Never again will the storehouses run dry for you, nor the loneliness silence the cries of your heart.

The Man of sweetest intention has been your Jireh, doubling your portion with forever family.

Blessed is He who has taken notice of you; the One who has gone to your every wherever.

In His fields you have found the safety of fine pastures and the gleaning of fresh bundles.

Praises rise from your lips as you watch Him settle the matters of your desire.

Trust comes comfortably to the daughter who has spirit eyes for her Father’s work.

With steady discernment you mother His children, passing on the hard-won wisdom of your youth.

The time spent at the feet of the King has crafted a witness that no other can match.

A Guardian Redeemer has approached your household and spoken His “I will.”

Resurrection is now your belonging - a life renewed and sustained even to the end of the age.

He who loves you has planted your feet in the land of fruitfulness.

Generations will be bred from the faith deposit within you.

You are indeed the pleasant and contended one, darling girl.

He has restored you to the house of daily bread and has blessed your labors with good return.

Biblical Context

Naomi was the mother-in-law of Ruth and the great-great grandmother of David. Her Hebrew name translates to "pleasant one."

I have a sweet friend that reminds me of Naomi. This poem is for her.

"But Ruth replied, 'Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.'" ~Ruth 1:16-17
