Make me a beautiful reflection of You.

When I look in the glass, let the one shining back be full of the Father's love.

To be made in Your image is a gift in dire need of a steward;

In dire need of a vessel ready to be filled.

Make me usable.

Make me sendable.

Make me recyclable; always ready for next steps with You.

Let there be many purposes for me under Your great commission.

This is not a singular track of melodic tune.

This is a symphony of sound.

A cacophony of lyrics sung by a Father in lullaby over His children.

Make music over me.

Sing songs of triumph.

Blast trumpets of victory as I step into Your glory.

Strip me of any shine that sparks from things not of You.

Dull me in sanctification unto death of that old woman.

Polish off the blemishes.

Brighten my surface and my core.

Take this lump of ashen coal and press it to redemptive beauty.

Forge diamonds of priceless value within my soul.

Set me as a seal upon Your right hand.

Etch into my heart the vows of Your love.

Tear the veil of deception from my face.

Let me enter into the marriage feast with my Bridegroom.

Biblical Context

Gynē is a Greek word meaning woman, specifically a wife. It is used in reference to the Bride of Christ detailed in Revelation 19:7-9:

Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his

Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and

pure”— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. And the angel said to me, “Write this:

Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These

are the true words of God.”

The Lord led me to these words during a worship service and as I wrote them, I realized the picture of Biblical marriage and unity He was painting. The bride getting ready, gazing at her reflection in the mirror as she dons her wedding dress, feeling the most beautiful she's ever felt. The orchestra of sounds emanating from the wedding hall as guests prepare for her entry, the melodic tunes coming from musicians as she glides down the aisle, the oohs and aahs of beloved friends and family as they gaze upon her look of love for her betrothed and his for her. The gleaming ring of precious value that symbolizes an eternal covenant placed upon each of their hands. The promises made with words to one another in quiet reverence. The veil lifted from her face as the two seal their union with a kiss, forever one.

This is what Jesus designed for us - a perfectly spotless union between Himself and His Church. The Father ordains each one given to His Son and blesses their marriage of purity. Our reflection is the handiwork of God, our purpose the divine mapwork of the Creator, our worship the deepest movement of our hearts for Him, our redemption the epic promise of the Most High, our place in eternity the coming reality made through a covenant of blood shed on calvary's hill. He is our Bridegroom, we are His Bride. Hallelujah.
