Bezalel

I am in the darkness.
It isn't a scary or disturbing darkness.
It's a quiet & stillness;
A place of restfulness, even.
In all the quiet stillness, there is still the voice that speaks.
Now with a whisper rather than a shout.
It's a voice that reassures.
That comforts.
That sustains.
I'm not necessarily moving through the darkness;
I'm rather elegantly being carried.
I can picture what the coming light will look like.
Yet my perception is limited by the eyes' inability to register these changing tones.
Though my flesh-borne vision fails, I use the sight of my spirit;
Faith.
The eyes that trust the things unseen.
That have peace in places of turmoil.
That hope amidst the confusion.
I know the darkness is temporary.
So for now, I simply wait.
I rest.
I remember.
I learn.
I grow.
I don't move, but I am moved.
I don't act physically but in my heart & mind there is a constant stirring.
A constant building up of muscle memory to be stored for later use.
I don't mind the darkness.
I am excited for the light.
Both are lovely in their own right.
For the darkness is merely just the shadow cast by Your wings;
The light Your glory beholden to all.
Biblical Context
Bezalel is a Hebrew name meaning "in the shadow (under the protection) of God."
"Then the Lord said to Moses, 'See, I have chosen Bezalel, son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills - to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver, bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts.'" ~ Exodus 31:1-5
"He made the atonement cover of pure gold - two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide. Then he made two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. He made one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; at the two ends he made them of one piece with the cover. The cherubim had their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim faced each other, looking toward the cover." ~ Exodus 37:6-9
